An IPO is a Journey
Getting ready for an IPO is a journey. And that journey isn’t always straightforward. There are many twists and turns in the IPO road.
An IPO isn’t the endpoint. It’s an event in the long path of many companies as they seek to mature and grow from private companies to full-fledged institutions trading on the public markets. My strength is helping your company to anticipate upcoming issues and to work closely as part of the management team to manage outside advisors.
From the beginning stages of IPO planning through the actual drafting process, we can work together much more closely and holistically than is generally possible with an outside law firm. My goal is in no way to supplant outside lawyers, but rather to act as an extension of the management team as someone who can be 100% focused on the IPO, leaving you room to run the business. Having seen pretty much every possible challenge (missed revenue targets, management team shuffles, lawsuits, competitive pressures, acquisitions, accounting restatements), my approach to the IPO journey is calm, business-focused and proactive.
IPOs can be great fun - it’s a true team project, a chance to refine and tell your story to a broader audience. They can also inspire terror and sleepless nights when things slide sideways. You need a seasoned guide on the path, and I look forward to discussing how we can work together.
